Nigel Furminger is responsible for treasury, financial accounting and reporting.
Nigel has broad financial experience in a number of business sectors, including insurance, reinsurance and run-off in Europe and North America. His expertise ranges from financial planning and tax planning to business process engineering and run-off management. Nigel is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He has held key positions across a broad range of industries primarily within insurance, reinsurance and information technology.
Prior to joining GRC, Nigel was the financial controller of dotRisk, the developer of an internet-based global commercial insurance marketplace. Within the Fairfax Financial Holdings group of companies, he improved European local and U.S. GAAP financial reporting processes and assisted in managing the transition of an ongoing business from a U.S. subsidiary to a U.S. branch and the remainder of the business into run-off. At Odyssey America Reinsurance Corporation, he designed and coordinated the introduction of a combined back office function to serve the needs of both the UK branch of a U.S. corporation and a Lloyd's Corporate Syndicate. At RiverStone Management UK, he was responsible for UK and U.S. GAAP reporting together with overall control of UK corporate tax matters.
